2022 Pakistan v England Schedule, Scorecards And Betting Odds Examined

England are all set to tour Pakistan on the back of a transitional summer for both their red and white ball teams. The first tour of Pakistan since 2005, this historic tour for the Three Lions will see the side play seven T20Is and three Test matches as a part of the 2021–2023 ICC World Test Championship. Check out SinkorSwimSports for our complete 2022 Pakistan v England schedule, scorecards, and the latest cricket betting odds.

Pakistan v England T20I Preview

This last English summer was the first since 2015 without an England v Pakistan of some form, and the ECB still owes Babar and co. a great deal for traveling over during the height of Covid, but not returning the favor a year later.

It is perhaps this sense of owing something that has contributed to this being the longest bilateral T20I series ever arranged. But, with the 2022 T20 World Cup in Australia scheduled just a month after the series, this could be a handy gauge for both sides to measure how they’re shaping up.

At the time of writing, Pakistan are ranked 4th in the ICC T20 rankings. They arrive at this series on the back of a run of 9 wins from their past 11 games, though fell short in the final of the 2022 Asia Cup against Sri Lanka. Here at SinkorSwim, we’re massive fans of Naseem Shah, and the 19-year-old is set for a huge series with the injury to Shaheen Afridi. With the bat, Mohammad Rizwan has moved to the summit of the T20I rankings, with Babar Azam down in 3rd.

As for England, the major talking point for the side is the return of Alex Hales after his exile under Eoin Morgan. The Durham man remains one of English cricket’s most destructive players, has a good amount of experience in the PSL, and a point to prove after being overlooked for so long. 2022 Was the first home summer since 2014 wIthout a white-ball series win for the Three Lions, and England will be without their skipper Jos Buttler whilst he continues to nurse his calf injury.

Pakistan are currently favorite for a series win in our latest cricket betting odds. You can back Babar Azam’s men at 4/6, with England behind at 11/8. Babar is also the leading name in most markets for the series’ top batsman at 4/1, with Mohammad Rizwan and Alex Hales behind at 5/1 and 7/1 respectively.

Pakistan v England Test Preview And Scorecards

England’s last tour of Pakistan in 2005 marked the beginning of the end of Michael Vaughan’s reign as Test skipper. Having emerged victorious in the 2005 Ashes, England came into the subcontinent with huge expectations but succumbed to a convincing 2-0 defeat.

Pakistan’s latest taste of Test life came in July earlier this year with a tour of Sri Lanka. They won their first match by four wickets but lost the second by a whopping 246 runs in Galle. Babar Azam became the fastest batter for an Asian cricketer to score 10,000 runs in the first match, surpassing the record previously held by Virat Kohli

As for England, after just one Test win out of their previous seventeen matches, the start to life under the Ben Stokes-Brendan McCullum leadership couldn’t have been much more of a success. With six wins out of seven this summer over New Zealand, India, and South Africa playing some of the most aggressive and exciting cricket, the future suddenly looks very bright for the Three Lions.
