India vs England: Cricket Odds And 2022 T20 World Cup Predictions

India have been our pick as the T20 World Cup winners right from the off, and Rohit Sharma’s men find themselves one match away from another final in 2022. After a disappointing World Cup campaign in 2021, India have hardly put a foot wrong since landing in Australia. But, the side face a tricky challenge in the form of Jos Buttler’s England in Adelaide. Check out our India vs England predictions as well as all the latest World Cup semi-final odds and offers at SinkorSwimSports!

Ben Stokes vs Sri Lanka 2022
Ben Stokes was instrumental in England’s win over Sri Lanka

Despite missing such a prolific bowler in Jasprit Bumrah, India always looked assured of a spot in the 2022 T20 World Cup semi-finals following their dramatic opening win over Pakistan. Only South Africa were able to beat India in Group B, with the side demonstrating their experience with some rain-affected run-chases.

With the bat is where India have excelled so far in this tournament. Whilst the two openers of Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul haven’t hit their best as of yet, Virat Kohli and Suryakumar Yadav have established themselves as the two best-performing players at the World Cup. Kohli, who has never been dismissed in T20Is at Adelaide, is the tournament’s leading run-scorer with 246 to his name, whilst SKY became the first Indian to make over 1,000 T20 runs in a year against Zimbabwe.

As for England, Jos Buttler’s side needed to beat New Zealand and Sri Lanka to ensure they made it into the World Cup semi-finals, which they managed to do with a five-wicket win over the latter last Saturday.

England have established themselves as serial semi-finalists in white-ball tournaments over the past few years, but have arguably looked far more of a finished product than what they’ve shown so far in 2022. This time last year, England had looked champions in the making, before slumping to a shocking semi-final loss to New Zealand, so perhaps this unpolished showing could be a promising sign for the Three Lions.

The major worry for England here is their middle order. The way in which Harry Brook, Liam Livingstone, and Moeen Ali went about a straightforward run-chase against Sri Lanka was nothing short of shocking. The fact that England will also be without Mark Wood, the quickest bowler at the 2022 World Cup by some margin, is another bowl for Buttler and co. to contend with.

India vs England Predictions And T20 World Cup Odds

Adelaide has historically been a pitch where you want to be batting in the second innings as conditions begin to fall away from the bowlers. Given England’s limp run-chases this tournament, this raises an interesting issue for whoever wins the toss: do you back yourself in a favorable run-chase, or look to punish where England have been weak?

Our latest cricket betting odds over at BetUS, India have been pierced as favorites here with odds of -140. Jos Buttler’s England side are available to back at Evens currently.

In terms of our predictions, so many unknowns make it hard for us to back England. If the Three Lions can showcase the form they had in the locker against New Zealand, they should be good enough to get over the line. However, with the form Virat Kohli is showing right now, it’s hard to bet against India getting the win here.
