Paul Stirling Ireland vs West Indies 2022
Paul Stirling starred in Ireland’s win over the West Indies

Ireland booked their place in the 2022 T20 World Cup Super 12s with a thrilling win over the West Indies on October 21. Gareth Delaney took a superb 3/16 from 4 overs in the first innings, before Paul Stirling’s 66* (46) spearheaded an impressive 9-wicket chase of the Windies’ 146/5.

It was certainly the sort of performance that made everyone sit up and take notice, but the signs had been there that Irish Cricket’s big breakthrough had been on the cards. Exciting prospects such as Curtis Campher have given Ireland a bit more star power, fuelling the side with a belief that more of these big wins could become more of a regular occurrence in the coming years.

As for England, the Three Lions did well in ensuring there would be no shocks in their opening-round win over Afghanistan. A superb bowling display led by Mark Wood and Sam Curran (the first player to take a five-wicket haul in T20Is) restricted Afghanistan to just 112, with England winning by five wickets.

Ireland vs England Predictions And T20 World Cup Odds

BETUS have once again supplied our latest cricket odds for what is shaping up to be a tasty-looking fixture. They have unsurprisingly priced England as the favorites here at 1/14. As an outside shout, Ireland can be backed at 8/1

We are big fans of Sam Curran here at SinkorSwimSports, and you can get odds on him to once again be the Top Away Bowler at 7/2.

Despite all the strides forward Irish Cricket is continuing to make, it will take a brave bettor to go against England’s chances here. The Three Lions have been in imperious form recently in their series wins over Pakistan and Australia, and the first-innings display against Afghanistan with the ball and in the field looks to be a powerful statement of intent.

Our Prediction
ENGLAND TO BEAT IRELAND
