Paris – Gilles Simon nullified Andy Murray’s first set win by rallying and putting the former Wimbledon winner to the sword 4-6, 7-5, 6-3 in second-round action of the 2022 Paris Masters.
World No. 61 Marc-Andrea Huesler also caused an upset as he extinguished Jannik Sinner’s hopes of a spot in the third round – putting him to the sword in straight sets 6-2, 6-3.

Simon, who won 58% of his first-serve points and converted 6 out of 12 break points chances, made light work of the former No.1 on Centre Court.
Simon, who is ranked world No.188, played some sublime tennis, winning 10 points in a row forcing veteran Murray out of the competition.
Simon, who reached the semi-finals here back in 2012, will be hoping to recreate his past glory here and will face US No.1 Taylor Fritz in the third round.
The 26-year-old from Zurich, Switzerland, is coming off of a third-round exit on home soil to Felix Auger Aliassime but recently won the Sofia Open against rising star Holger Rune.
Huesler refused the Italian any time to work his way into the match, winning 76% on his first serve against the world No.12.It was a short tournament for Sinner, who lost 2-6, 3-6 to the plucky Swiss player.
Maxime Cressy, who was born in Paris but has American citizenship, utilized where he was born by downing Diego Schwartzman 6-3, 6-3.
Cressy wasted no time by winning 60 points against the Argentinian’s 45 and outplayed the Buenos Aires-born player from start to finish.
Fritz, who also is a flag bearer for the US, made short work of Alejandro Davidovich Fokina, beating the Monte Carlo finalist 7-5, 6-2.
Frances Tiafoe, Richard Gasquet, Lorenzo Musetti, and Cameron Norrie are a host of names who are comfortably through to the last 32 here in Paris.
